Light of Passage, ROH

Light of Passage, ballet choreographed by Crystal Pite set to Gorecki Symphony no.3 Symphony of Sorrowful Songs performed on the main stage at ROH was much much more than I expected.  Relatively short ( just under 90 mins) it has three passionate, exquisite and heart wrenching pieces.  In beauty, statement, movement execution, lighting and music: I watched, often in tears in appreciation and wonder of the creativity and skill of the performance.  Included in the programme notes Pite is quoted  

"The threshold between the known and the unknown. Moving from this world into whatever comes next, and the immeasurable distance between the departed and the bereaved."
