My Inspiration
Painting is poetry that is seen rather than felt, and poetry is painting that is felt rather than seen
Creativity is part and parcel of our DNA at birth. Then life comes along - and it is often squashed and lost. Fortunately, reconnection with this particular part of our humanity is possible.
Peronel has found that her key is passion, purpose and a perspective which sees beyond the here and now, plus a ruthless honesty. With this in mind, she knows that the practise of painting combined with the discipline of learning a craft, can produce an output which gives intense pleasure to many.
Influenced by colourists, impressionists and the teaching of her mentor-tutor, Christopher Baker, Peronel's language and style is - pure Peronel. She works each piece as a response to a landscape, her starting point of thought and inspiration. Her creations incorporate intense emotions, with a spike or a risk, or simply abandoned pleasure. Peronel paints from the soul and from the head, using a language of symbolism, colour, scale and hope. Of light, sorrow, regret, and delight - a practise underpinned by +40 years of application and learning, developing and refining her "art".
When there is no paintbrush in her hand, Peronel listens deeply, providing a safe place for thinkers. She has been described as being creative, an adventurer, a friend with depth of soul.
She holds qualifications in coaching (PCC- ICF) since 2014, Coaching at the End of life and Grief training (2021) and Living Well Dying Well Companion Death Doula, Foundation level (2024)
Where the spirit does not work with the hand, there is no art. Leonardo da Vinci
